Some people like to talk about sports. Others like to talk about pets. Me, I'm Ted Acer, and I love talking about scrapbookings! Scrapbooking has affected my life in a very positive way. Its cool to just scrapbook. I have one whole scrapbook thats just pictures of me working on other scrapbooks, and theres a scrapbook about me working on that scrapbook. Its this wonderful amazing recursive cycle that has consumed my entire existence to the point that I barely even exist anymore, i have made scrapbooks, and scrapbooks have made me. It's like that Dr. Seuss character who lifted himself up by his pants and lifted himself off into the sky. Seems like it ought to be impossible, but here I am.

Well I've been doing some thinking about scrapbooking (like usual) and well, there are a few more things I would like to say about it. Be careful what you scrapbook about. Do not scrapbook about hazardous materials (for your own health!), illegal substances, conspiratorial gatherings, or whatever terrorist cells you belong to. Scrapbooking about illegal activities in general is a bad idea, publishing it online is even worse! But like I say, the best way to not scrapbook about illegal things is to DOnN'T do illegal things in the first place. This can't be said enough.

As long as you stick to my advice youll be safe from legal trouble. Stay away from using firearms in the creation of your scrapbook if you live within a municipality, or if you are a fugitive or have felony convictions in the US. Check your local state gun laws for more information so to what is permitted and disallowed. Its tricky business, but iwth careful attention to the law, you will be O.K. ;-)

As for cutting implements, some states have blade length restrictions, so stick with basically anything short of a kukri should be fine. I should add that if you plan on scrapbooking on school property, it complicates things so it is probably best to stay away from firearms in this case, and maybe limit your cutting implement to something small, an X-Acto knife or a small balisong should be fine, provided that you do not wield them in a flashy or menacing way.

One of the reasons why I am such a big proponent of digital scrapbooking is that it cuts out a lot of the legal questions, and reduces the hobby to its core, which is a simple and fun way to preserve memories and share them with others. I've gotten into too much trouble for the sake of scrapbooking, and so these digital alternatives just grow and grow in their appeal. I'm always ready to recommend a few of my favorites:
